O Holy Night (Programmers version)

On I.T. night the lights are brightly shining:
It is the night of our dear milestone’s birth.
Long lay our code with bugs and errors hiding
Till they appeared and we learned our product’s worth.
A thrill of hope; the weary team rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees — the I.T. prime approaches
O night divine!
O night when bugs were found!
O night divine!
O night when bugs were found!

Led by our faith he’ll solve the bugs uncovered,
With hopeful hearts, by his cubicle we stand.
He calls the teams who own the code that faltered:
He knows the wise men from all groups on hand.
The I.T. prime, at his lowly station,
In all our trials born to be our friend.

He knows our needs — our weakness is no stranger
Behold the I.T. prime!
Before him lowly bend!
Behold the prime —
Before him lowly bend!

Truly he taught us how to fix our designs —
His law is “Teamwork will govern our fate.”
Silos he breaks so we can meet our deadlines
And in his name, all the teams collaborate.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise his holy name.

I.T. is the phase where bugs are left to die
Oh praise the I.T. prime!
His power evermore proclaim!
Oh praise the I.T. prime!
His power evermore proclaim!

Fall on your knees — the I.T. prime approaches
He knows our needs:
He’ll find someone to help us
O night divine!
Oh praise the I.T. prime!
